Conférences

Participation et organisation de nombreuses Conférences européennes et internationales. La dernière Conférence s’est déroulée du 23 au 24 mars 2012 à Barcelone organisée par le Col-legi de Directors y Directores de Cinema de Catalunya et l’Alliance Mondiale du Cinéma en collaboration avec la SGAE, intitulée « Propriété Intellectuelle et politique audiovisuelle européenne ».

Europe – The Unfinished Empire (2007)

« Excellent film. Merci beaucoup! Il faut absolument redonner du contenu qui ne soit pas seulement économique à notre Europe. Une vision commune articulée autour des thèmes et idées qui sont vraiment d’intérêt général, pour le bien commun, et fondés sur le principe de subsidiarité, permettra la mise ne place, dans la confiance, d’une forme d’exécutif plus efficace bénéficiant d’une légitimité populaire vraiment ressentie. Crise – Un Autre Horizon (1985)

La violence de la CRISE économique belge et européenne dés années 80, conduisent Joao Correa à réaliser le documentaire de création CRISE, Un autre horizon, film prémonitoire du désastre économique qui Secoue la Belgique et l’Europe aujourd’hui. L’ espoir dans nouvelles technologues n’est pas à la hauteur à cause du manque de vision dés hommes politiques incapables d’avoir une vision de long terme…et ont finit par rendre possible la situation économique dramatique d’aujourd’hui. Gérard Lambert économiste soutien le commentaire, dans son analyse des causes de la CRISE, et indique les pistes pour le future. Jamais, ni exploitées, ni mises en route.

Les Territoires de la Défonce (1986)

This routine documentary on drug addiction among Belgian youth also looks at famous people who were addicted to one drug or another, such as Baudelaire and Freud, and the narrative skims through eras in history in which drug use was common. Among the periods and places mentioned are the English opium trade in China, drugs in the renaissance, and in ancient Rome. Many of the addicts in Belgium come from middle-class families or better and it is implied that they turned to drugs out of a sense of alienation or because they had nothing better to do. Drug users tended to start with casual substances but quickly turn to the more seriously addictive heroin or cocaine. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Les Enfants de L’Oubli (1979)

This impassioned documentary had a tremendous political effect in Belgium, its country of origin. It concerns the appalling mistreatment of children kept in the custody of the state, and the film is made by a man who was himself such a child. Because of strict laws forbidding children under age 16 to be photographed for any reason, the children in this film had to wear disguises. The filmmakers also had to meet the children clandestinely, as the professional child-care specialists and the government were decidedly unsupportive. In one scene, a little girl shows the cigarette burns she has received. Others are equally harrowing. Despite an avowed policy of having these children (usually orphans) adopted by loving families, it is much more financially rewarding for the people who run the childcare homes to keep them in their indifferent care. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
